BAND
George Roumanis has an excellent arrangement of Silent Night Serenade, a grade 4 level piece. This selection is a contemporary presentation of this classic. You will be impressed with the multiple themes running together.
STRING ORCHESTRA
Liv Forever, is a new string orchestra piece by Chris Teichler. Liv Forever was commissioned by Mrs. Dawn Pakkebier and the Still Middle School 8th Grade Orchestra (Aurora, IL) and the Indian Prairie Education Foundation, in memory of Olivia Campanaro, a student of the orchestra who tragically died in a car accident along with her father.
The Vivaldi Rag provides a bit a levity for your program. You will find some excellent inner parts in this composition by Louis F. Jendras.
SAXOPHONE TRIOS, QUARTETS, CHOIR
Ma Mere L'Oye (Mother Goose Suite) by Maurice Ravel is now available for Saxophone Choir. This arrangement is by Gary Bricault and provides the saxophone choir with the opportunity to perform this classic.
Christmas Trios for Saxophone can be performed with AAT or AAB. This grouping of Christmas Favorites has been done by R. Scott Troyer. Give a listen to this selection.
FLUTE CHOIR
Squid Sarabande by Mark Ballora features special tonguing techniques which are used throughout this piece. Impressionistic, textural, and modal, this piece attempts to evoke the ambience of the underwater world, and the mesmerizing characteristics of the deep sea squid. It requires ensemble playing and good tone control, and features special techniques such as flutter tonguing, pizzicato, and tongue rams.
Check out White Over Cream. This is a finalist in the 2011 National Flute Association Newly Published Music Competition.
BASSOON OCTET
Ave Verum Corpus has been arranged for seven bassoons and contra bassoon and divided into two quartets. Arranger Gary Bricualt and editor Bruce R. Smith have created a wonderful selection for the bassoon ensemble.
