You are listening to The Dawn of Freedom by Nancy Bloomer Deussen. Commisioned by the US Army TRADOC Band, this piece is inspired by the uniqueness of our country and our fight during the Revolutionary War. This is suitable for any national hoiliday or celebration of American and American music.

BAND

We have new material for grade 2 to 2½ band. Check out Native Spirit, Rebecca's Secret, Twilight Meditation, and From A French Processional. Here are four contrasting compositions which are well written for the student musician. For the grade 5/6 band there are two new pieces by Randall Snyder, Matsuri and Ars Antiqua. From the pen of Donald Coakley you need to check out Antiphonals.

STRING ORCHESTRA

We have an exciting new series for String Orchestra.

The Multiple Level String Series has multiple parts for violin, viola, and cello that allow young players of varying abilities to play in a string orchestra setting. Each composition is suitable for the classroom or a concert. Those players who are just beginning the study of a string instrument can participate in the orchestra along with more advanced string players. For the more advanced players, each work in the series deals with a technical problem related to string instruments and to music in general. The compositions below are the first two of a group of 10 selections which will be released in 2009.

Check out new releases from the Multiple Level String Series which include Lyric Piece, Wandering Waltz and Finger Pickin'.

FLUTE CHOIR AND CLARINET CHOIR

Check out Concerto RV 425, Vivaldi for your flute choir. This new arrangement features 1st and 2nd flute parts, but puts responsibilities on all the parts. For the clarinet choir, Russlan and Ludmilla, by Glinka, is a new arrangement for the advanced clarinet section. This will make an ideal opener or closer for your clarinet choir or a contest selection.

CHAMBER MUSIC

You will want to check out Rhapsody, a trio for Clarinet, Violin and Piano. This was premiered by the Verdhr Trio. Also check out Tonospheres for flute, clarinet and bassoon, and Tonospheres Duo for violin and cello. These pieces are by Daniel Perttu.

SAXOPHONE QUARTETS

We have a new series of saxophone quartets arranged by Gary Bricault. More are being added in the near future. Give a listen to these SATB quartets and saxophone choirs of Symphony No. 1, Andante Cantabile, and Symphony No. 1 Menuetto and Cappricio Espagnol.

LOW BRASS

Arranger Gary Bricault has two new quartets for euphoniums and tubas. Fuga Con Un Soggetto Solo and Sonata in C Minor, Op. 5, No. 7. There is also an octet, Ave Verun Corpus for four euphoniums and four tubas. These are well-conceived arrangements for this instrumentation.
