Arranger/Composer Les Taylor has produced two pieces for medium level bands. You are listening to Nessun Dorma, by Giacomo Puccini, is a new arrangement for solo trumpet or tenor solo. Another new piece by Les is Humwichawa, a great new piece that was commissioned by the Madison Grant music department, Fairmount, Indiana.
BAND
Funeral March of a Marionette is written for bassoon solo, but can be performed by any number of solo parts including bass clarinet, baritone sax, euphonium, tuba or marimba. This is a grade 3 level. This is also available for bassoon and piano.
Open Vistas was commissioned by the South Central Iowa Bandmasters Association for the 2008-2009 Honor Band.
ORCHESTRA
Beauty Creek, by Andrew Riggle, was written for the Northwest Indiana Youth Orchestra. A great piece for high school, community orchestras, or contest performances.
Two new quintets for advanced groups are being released at this time. David Sosnowski has written Ingredients in a Sauce. Composer Alex Millet has produced Little March which with its contemporary feel produces a melody that your audience will remember.
TRUMPET SEXTET
Commissioned for and premiered by the Kansa State University Trumpet Ensemble, Finish composer Jukka Viitasaari has produced a unique piece for this ensemble for five trumpets and flugelhorn.
CLARINET CHOIR
Portrait of a Searcher is a new clarinet choir that was commissioned by the Finish Clarinet Society. Jukka Viitasaari has written an outstanding composition for advanced clarinet choirs.
